Why do you build with Next.js and React?

Next.js is the same framework powering Netflix, Nike, Notion, and TikTok's web platform. It gives us server-side rendering for SEO, instant client-side navigation for UX, automatic image optimisation, and a clear path to the latest React features. We've found it consistently outperforms WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify-builder sites on Core Web Vitals — which is increasingly the difference between page 1 and page 3.

How is custom development different from a WordPress build?

WordPress and similar CMS platforms are powerful but heavy — every plugin adds weight, complexity, and a security surface. Custom development means each feature is built only when you need it, runs as fast as possible, and doesn't depend on third-party plugins that may break on the next update. The trade-off is up-front cost: a custom Next.js site costs more initially but typically pays back in performance, conversions, and lower long-term maintenance.

What about content management — can my team still edit pages?

Yes. We integrate Sanity CMS or Payload CMS by default — visual editing, drafts, scheduled publishing, and role-based permissions. Your team gets a clean studio interface to update text, images, blog posts, case studies, and product copy without touching code.

Can you build e-commerce sites?

Yes — using Shopify Hydrogen for full-stack Shopify storefronts, or headless commerce with Sanity + Stripe for fully custom checkout flows. Pick Shopify if you want fast time-to-launch and proven payments; pick custom if you have unusual product configurators or B2B pricing logic.

What hosting do you recommend?

Vercel — it's purpose-built for Next.js, offers global edge delivery, automatic image optimisation, and seamless CI/CD from GitHub. For most clients hosting costs are £20–£200/month depending on traffic. We can also deploy to Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, or your own infrastructure if you have requirements.

Do you provide source code and documentation?

Always. Every project ships with a private GitHub repository in your organisation, a README with deployment instructions, and a written handover document covering CMS workflows, environment variables, and deployment. If you ever change agencies, the next team can pick up exactly where we left off.
