The Challenge

The East Wear Bay site near Folkestone contains a Roman villa and 12,000 years of archaeological history, but it's being lost to coastal erosion. The project needed a digital platform to preserve discoveries, coordinate 500+ volunteers, and manage field school registrations from participants across 5 countries.

Our Solution

Created a comprehensive digital museum with 3D artefact viewers, an interactive timeline spanning 12,000 years, volunteer management tools, and field school registration. Powered by Sanity CMS for easy content management by the archaeological team.

Project Overview

Built a digital museum and community platform for the East Wear Bay archaeological project in Folkestone, preserving the site of a Roman villa threatened by coastal erosion. Features 3D-scanned artefacts, field school registration, and volunteer engagement tools.
